Our research spans across all fields of renewable energy science, particularly those involving electrochemically induced chemical transformation.

We strive to decipher, understand, and ultimately command all elementary electron transfer steps in the photon-to-fuel energy conversion processes, from the natural photosynthetic Z-Scheme to the fuel forming redox catalysis reactions. En route to our ultimate goal, we devise electrochemically induced material synthesis schemes, and also delve into the realms of nanoelectrochemistry involving scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM). We are one of a handful of teams in the world equipped with the capabilities to make and handle electrodes in the true ‘nanometer’ scales. This type of prowess allow us to crack the codes hidden in the smallest nooks and crannies of electrode surface structures, and shall grant us a lucid picture of surface reaction mechanisms. We are always seeking for brilliant young talents to join us in our quests.
